Accepting a contributor invitation
This guide covers what to do when we send you an invitation to contribute to one of our websites.
Open the contributor email
When you are invited to be a contributor, you'll receive an email invitation with the subject line "Contributor Invitation from ..."
Open the email and click Accept Invitation.
A message will display the email address of the account that invited you and the name of the site. Click Accept.
The Create Account or Login screen will display, depending on whether you've already created an account for this email address.
If you don't have a Squarespace account
If you don't already have a Squarespace account, enter your name, email address, and choose a password for the new account. You'll use these credentials to log into the website.
Click Create Account to accept the invitation.
If you already have a website account
If you already have an account for editing another one of our websites, or another Squarespace website, you'll be prompted to sign in with your existing account email and password. Enter your credentials, then click Login.
"Invalid email address"
This message appears when the email address entered isn't part of our system. If you don't have a Squarespace account already, click Create Squarespace Account.
This message appears when the password doesn't match our system's record for the email address. If you don't have a Squarespace account already, click Create Squarespace Account.
"Invalid Invitation Code"
If the invitation has already been accepted, or if the site owner cancelled the invitation, this message will appear. Contact the site owner and ask them to remove and resend the invitation.
