Working With Us
We'll always do our best to meet your expectations, but it’s important to have things written down so that we both know who is expected to do what, and when. It helps us to do what’s best for both of us, now and in the future.
This guide is provided in addition to our legal terms and conditions. We hope you that you find it useful.
Summary of what you agree to do
- You’ll give me everything I need to complete the project as and when and in the format I need it.
- You’ll review my work, provide feedback and give approval in a timely manner too - within 3 business days of each design presentation. If this is not possible, you’ll contact me to explain the situation because projects run better when we keep the momentum going.
- You agree to stick to the payment schedule as set out in the proposal.
Summary of what we agree to do
- We have the experience and ability to do everything we’ve agreed to.
- We’ll do it all in a professional and timely manner.
- We'll endeavor to meet every deadline that’s set and we’ll maintain the confidentiality of everything you give us.
- We will communicate project progress with you clearly and regularly. As a current client you can expect a response within 24 hours.
We design websites that will be hosted on Squarespace or Webflow. The platform depends on the complexity of the required design. We'll tell you which platform we're using in your proposal.
Once the site has been built, you'll be able to edit the content in real-time using the built-in content management system. We don't provide you with files that can be uploaded onto platforms other than Squarespace or Webflow.
All the websites we build are responsive. This means that they adjust to give an optimal viewing experience on the device being used. Elements will resize and rearrange themselves automatically for different device screen sizes. You will need to view your website with this flexibility in mind. This is particularly important when considering images and logos. Photographs will automatically be cropped and resized on different screen sizes. In modern responsive web design, it isn't technically possible to achieve pixel-perfect image placement.
We will input and style the text that you provide and we will make recommendations based on design considerations, but we're not responsible for writing the text copy that will be used on your website. If you need help with writing copy, please ask us for a separate quotation.
We recommend that you provide us with the text for the site before we commence work. You may choose to work on your copy during the website build, but know that not having website content prepared or finalised is the most common cause of delays in launching new sites.
Photographic and Graphic Image Content
We will use the photographic images that you supply. They must be high-resolution digital images that are at least 1500 pixels wide; 2500 pixels wide for headers. If you require additional high-quality images and do not have a regular photographer, please contact us for a quotation.
We will use your existing logo(s) unless our proposal specifically includes graphic design services for a new logo. The logo should be supplied as an editable, vector digital format.
Method of Communication
For most projects, we use email as the primary source of communication. We try to limit the number of updates that we send by email to one per week. This is so that we don't overwhelm you with a constant series of questions. However, if you want more contact, or you ever feel like a phone call would be helpful to clear things up or talk through options, just let us know and we’ll make it happen.
We always try to confirm receipt of your email message within 24 hours (unless a longer absence is planned and previously communicated). If it has been longer than that, please follow-up as our SPAM filter has been known to be overzealous by eating perfectly good messages.
Changes, Additions and Refunds
Each proposal clearly defines what is included in the project. The cost is based on the length of time that we estimate we’ll need to accomplish everything you’ve told asked us to do, but we're happy to be flexible.
If you change your mind and want to add something new, that won’t be a problem. Let us know what it is and we'll provide you with a separate estimate for it.
A deposit payment (as detailed in your proposal) is due prior to any work being started. Your project will be re-scheduled or canceled if the downpayment is not received. The deposit is non-refundable.
We reserve the right to terminate a project at any time communication becomes ineffective or deadlines for content/feedback are ignored. If you do not respond to communications for a period of over 2 weeks during the course of the project, the project will be considered abandoned.
You also may terminate a project at any time you are dissatisfied or your priorities change. If you’re not happy with the direction our work is taking, you’ll pay us in full for everything we’ve produced until that point and will cancel this contract.
